Project info

  • Mission: investigate the possibilities to use the Port of Rotterdam as a hub for export flows.

For the Russian Energy Industry we have investigated the possibilities to use the Port of Rotterdam ashub for crude and diesel export flows from the Baltic Sea to Rotterdam

As a result of this the following has been developed/achieved in the Port of Rotterdam:

  • turnover in the Russian oil and gas export segment increased with more than 600 percent in the first years;

  • a Storage Agreement for 400,000 tons of Petro Chemical Products was signed between a Russian Trader and a local storage company;

  • three private Russian companies have been assisted in establishing their own companies in Rotterdam;

  • assistance to a private Russian company in developing and operating a bunker terminal in the Port of Rotterdam together with a Dutch partner. The terminal will be operated for 49 years and the Russian customer has invested more than 250 million in the project. Within 2.5 years the handling of crude- and fuel oil increased with more than 500% from 11 million ton to 80 million tons;

  • for BKJ SOLUTIONS Forwarders and Shipping Lines we’ve developed an inland freight rail shuttle project resulting in 8 private shuttle trains per week with an annual capacity of more than 800,000 TEU’s from Rotterdam to Central and Eastern Europe.
